Practice areas include land and building lease related disputes (including vacation of premise, change of lease conditions, and request for changes in rents), administrative cases related to Building Standards Act and City Planning Act, apartment management and disputes, and real estate cases including building defects and real estate transactions.

He is a specialist in real estate related disputes with deep knowledge and practical experience in real estate and urban planning. Real estate disputes often involve negotiations with emotional parties. With the necessary ability to maintain his composure yet negotiate with flexibility according to the situation of the parties involved, he has gained a reputation for his skills in consistently leading to the resolution of real estate disputes.

On the one hand, as a representative of the residents, he negotiates fiercely with the administration with regards to city planning; on the other hand, he is a rare attorney who at the same time receives high praises from the administrations as he serves as a member of the City Development Cityscape Council in Suginami Ward, and as a member of the Measures Examination Committee for Vacant Buildings in Setagaya Ward. He is the undisputed leader in the real estate related area in our firm.

He is leveraging the knowledge he acquired in the real estate area in other areas as well. His other achievements include his track record in debt recovery and claims for damages in traffic accidents and compensation for nuclear damages.

In addition, as his lifework, he is actively engaging in preservation activities of historical buildings, and acts as the chairperson of the Tokyo Bar Association’s Historical Buildings, and the secretary-general of the Executive Committee of the Special Research Committee for Securing Safety Performance of Historical Large-scale Wooden Ryokan of the Architectural Institute of Japan.
